Delete Device Data

The Delete Device Data section lets users clear data from a device.

Clear the history of all the API requests made by the device.

Clear the device’s last online timestamp, location, and software version.

Remove all data files uploaded by the device.

Send the device a factory reset command.

The user can select one or more options to include in the factory reset.

Devices with a model type of Connected Logger support the following granular factory reset options:

Key: data_buffer

This will permanently erase all logged CAN data from the device.

Key: events_buffer

This will permanently erase all logged event data from the device.

Key: gps_buffer

This will permanently erase all logged GPS data from the device.

Key: device_settings

This will reset all device settings to factory defaults, including Wi-Fi, LTE, CAN bus, BLE, HTTP, MQTT, storage sizes, passwords, logging intervals, and IMU.

Key: certificates

This will erase the certificates used to connect to the cloud.

Key: operational_settings

This will erase all signal definitions and event configurations.

Key: reboot
